It has been a minute since we did an inspiration post. Life seems to get in the way sometimes. But we are back at it and it is time to scare up some frightful projects.
Thank you to those who sent us their patterns to include. Please visit the designer's links and stores to show your support. Be sure to follow them on social media because they offer so many fun patterns. If you would like to be included in future inspiration blogs, just let us know. Next up are Fall/Autumn projects and Holiday Inspiration if you would like to participate.
Halloween Inspirations
Just imagine if you could choose your own quilt design. Quilt Brew patterns offer a flexible design that promotes creativity for the modern quilter. Night Folly, by Hexen Haus is the first pattern in the “choose your own adventure” Quilt Brew series. Quilters can mix and match blocks to "brew" their own design or choose from one of the FOUR suggested designs with EIGHT layouts. That is four quilt patterns in one. By design, it is magical and mystical with a little bit of whimsy and classical, and the design possibilities are endless!
You can find Quilt Brew's Night Folly in Hexen Haus' shop. We can not wait to see what you "brew" for Halloween!
Art Gallery Fabrics has a fun, free pattern on their blog to make this adorable tote. Get ready for some eerie fun this Halloween! 🎃 Craft your very own trick-or-treat tote bag using a recycled quilt block that’s perfect for collecting all those candy and goodies! 🍬
With just a simple 12” quilt block, you can create a unique tote that’s super easy, fun, and perfect for the kiddos.
Grinning Ghoul is now available for you to craft the perfectly adorable, not-so-frightful, Halloween decor of your dreams (nightmares? probably not this guy!)
Sewistry_NC has made this block pattern so you can make a throw pillow, wall hanging, or incorporate him into a tote or piece of clothing...I've released the pattern NOW so you have time to create your own in time to display/wear for the whole Halloween season. All those goofy mismatched teeth and hair bits? Scraps turned into prairie points, giving the project some dimension and sensory satisfaction. The background/face color can be a fat quarter or less, so it's a great project to shop your stash for.
Jennifer Long of Sew A Story has a playful way to celebrate Halloween with her Little Witchy Sampler. Stitch a variety of Halloween blocks to make a spellbinding wall quilt! This small sampler-style quilt features a witch's hat and broom, a cauldron and magical potions, flying bats, and more! You will love sewing these small blocks to piece together into a playful Halloween decoration!
The Pattern Basket has the friendliest ghost quilt this season with The Spooky Patch. Fat quarters and fat eights, even in scraps, will make this cuddly ghost in the pumpkin patch a favorite quilt for the kiddos or a large wall hanging for your Halloween Decor.
Corinne Sovey has taken her quilt along and turned it into The Hocus Pocus LITE quilt pattern. This is a revamped, confident beginner-friendly version of the Original Hocus Pocus quilt pattern and comprises (19) unique quilt blocks, some repeated. All blocks are traditionally pieced and you can combine them any way you like in any color combination you choose for Halloween.
The Jelly Ghosts pattern by Modernly Morgan is part of her "Jelly Quilt" series, all made from jelly rolls. Just like its sister quilt, Jelly Stars, Jelly Ghosts uses precut strips (or 1/4 yard cuts) to make a unique and Boo-tiful throw. With so many fun Halloween fabric collections out there, options are endless to make your very own Jelly Ghosts quilt!
Kim at Stitched in Purple has a fun, quick project in store for you. Do you need a cute Halloween quilt?
This one is fun to make. It uses two fussy-cut panels. This Weekender quilt kit uses the popular Hey Boo fabric or you can make it using scraps and fussy but images. The possibilities are endless!
The Cheeky Ghost pattern is a very popular project for Halloween. Amy of Ritual Quilt Company made this pattern as a quick make with easy-to-follow instructions. You will be able to create a fun, friendly ghost quilt to cozy up your home throughout the fall season or gift to your favorite kids.
Do you decorate for Halloween? Is it quilts, wall decor, or projects? Share your thoughts, we'd love to hear them!
